FIX: To install .exe files downloaded from the internet (like the Sibelius installer)on Windows 8, you’ll need to modify the registry settings.

1) Start by going to the Start Menu and type "Run" to pull up the "Run" program. Launch the "Run" program and type in “regedit” (without the quotes) into the text box and hit Enter/ Return. The Windows Registry Editor will appear.

2) Next, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem.

3) Click on the "EnableLUA" key and set the value to "0". This will disable UAC (User Account Control).

4) An Action Center message will appear prompting you to restart the computer to disable UAC.

5) Restart the computer and run EXE files downloaded from the internet at your own risk.

* NOTE: You will not be able to run any apps from the Windows store after disabling this. However, you can always set EnableLUA back to "1" to run them.

Here is the procedure to log in the motherboard admin page (please use with caution) :

1) Plug another Computer to the AS3000 LAN slot 3 at back of the system through Ethernet.

2) The AS3000 IPMI default address should be set to 10.1.1.20*, therefore you need to setup the network adapter of your Computer with an IP address that will enable communication, for example let's use 10.1.1.21.

3) Open a Browser from you Computer, like Internet Explorer, type the AS3000 IPMI address 10.1.1.20 in the address bar, then Enter.

4) Login with the following credentials :
username : root
password : superuser

>> You should now get access to the following page. In this example you can see that there is a FAN causing problem (FAN2A).

* SIDE NOTE : changing the AS3000 IPMI address :

While the IPMI default address should be set to 10.1.1.20, here is the way to change it.
Reboot the AS3000, at bootup messages type <DEL> to enter Bios Setup.

This problem has been seen to occur on Windows 7 clients and happens because the version of Java used by Interplay is not fully compatible with Windows 7.

Firstly, please ensure that the time synchronisation scheme is appropriate and working correctly.  See the KB article Time Synchronisation for Avid Interplay systems for more information on how to do this.

This issue can then be corrected by adding a timezone entry to Java config files as follows:

Locate the following files which are most easily found by searching for "*.vmoptions":

Edit each file and add a line similar to one of the following:

Pro Tools 11 and higher is supported for co-installation on the same computer with Avid Media Composer 3.5.3 and higher.  When you co-install Avid Media Composer and Pro Tools note the following:

• Install Pro Tools first and then Media Composer.
• You must uninstall all older versions of Media Composer or Pro Tools before installing newer versions.
• Co-install does not support both applications launched simultaneously.
• If you run into any issues, uninstall both applications and reinstall Pro Tools first, then Media Composer.

Mac Notes
Before installing Media Composer, you must launch Pro Tools 11 once to complete the install process. 

Windows Notes
When uninstalling Pro Tools on an HDX or HD Native system choose to uninstall just the application, not the audio drivers.

Hyperthreading
