iTunes saves backups to your user folder. The location of this folder varies depending on your operating system, and the location can't be changed.
If you want to have extra copies of your iTunes backups, you can copy the backup folders to another location, external drive, or network storage location.
Find device backups in ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
To locate a specific backup:
Find device backups in \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the Application Data folder:
Find a list of your iTunes backups under \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

If you find any of your missing items, add them to your iTunes library by dragging them into your iTunes library window.
If you can't find your lost media in your iTunes Media folder, check your iTunes preferences to see if your media is in another location.
You can resend iTunes Gifts from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch or your computer. When you resend an iTunes Gift, the recipient will receive another email with a link to redeem the gift.
You can only resend iTunes Gifts such as songs, movies, TV shows, apps, games, and books. You can resend iTunes Gifts sent in dollar amounts until they have been redeemed.
Follow these steps if you need help restoring your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from an iTunes backup. For example, there might not be a backup available for your device, or you might have questions about using an iPhone backup for an iPad.
The Encrypt Backup feature in iTunes locks and encodes your data. An encrypted iTunes backup includes certain information that other backups don't:
iTunes doesn't encrypt your backups by default. To encrypt a backup in iTunes for the first time, you'll need to turn on the password-protected Encrypt Backup option. After you turn on Encrypt Backup, iTunes automatically makes encrypted backups for that device from then on.
There is no way to recover your information or turn off Encrypt Backup if you lose or forget the password.
You can also make a backup in iCloud, which automatically encrypts your information every time.
After you join a family, you can view and download items from each family member’s purchase history, and enjoy them on your own devices. You can download music, movies, TV shows, and books to up to 10 of your devices, five of which can be computers. You can download apps to any devices that you own or control.
Use these steps to view and download your family member's content.

On your Apple TV, select Movies > Purchased > Family Sharing, then select your family member to see their content. You can access shared movies and TV shows on Apple TV, but not music.
