How to activate a Sibelius upgrade? |
*New Sibelius single-user 'upgrade' process changes (from June 18th, 2015) for the new Sibelius are as follows:
*Note; The beginning of the process shown in the YouTube video below this info is essentially the same for the new Sibelius, its just the point where you enter your old serial number or System ID in your Avid account during the upgrade process that's changed a little for the new version.
1. After logging in at account.avid.com/activation and entering your download code to deposit the product in your Avid account, the following Sibelius Upgrade product, pending upgrade verification will be shown in the 'My Products and Subscriptions' area (the 'My Products and Subscriptions' link is found under 'My Products' on the left-hand side after logging in initially):
2. You then enter the serial number (Sibelius 1-7.0) or System ID (Sibelius 7.1-7.5) of the version you’re upgrading from and click the ‘Submit’ button:
3. Once it’s processed, this is what you’ll see in the account and you’re ready to download/install and activate Sibelius. Click Show at the bottom to find the download links:

General Instructions:
When you purchase a single-user Sibelius upgrade, you must complete a simple eligibility verification process before you can activate and register your software.
On the blue card in your box (shown below) you will find an upgrade activation code and instructions to visit account.avid.com/activation and enter the code where the page prompts you to. If you purchased Sibelius online via the Avid store, you’ll receive an email containing the same instructions and a direct link to the account.avid.com/activation page:
You must provide the upgrade activation code from your blue card or the confirmation email, and you’ll then be prompted to enter your Sibelius serial number, System ID or Activation ID for the existing Sibelius licence that you’re upgrading from. The specific existing Sibelius licence code that the upgrade process requires will depend on what version of Sibelius you’re upgrading from, and what type of code the process is asking for.
If you encounter any problems with activating your upgrade please contact the Registration Support team.
In the meantime, you can continue to use Sibelius in its fully-functional 30-day trial mode. Once you have activated your upgrade, you can go ahead and activate your new Sibelius installation on your computer.
