Need help locating your proof of purchase?

Use the following information to help locate your proof of purchase.

Did you purchase the software from the Apple Store online?

If you purchased your software from the Apple Store online and have your web order number available, you can submit your request.  The web order number begins with a "W" followed by a series of numbers. You may be able to find this number in one of the emails you received from Apple about your order from the Apple Store online. Try searching for "web order" in your email client.

If you do not have your web order number available, visit the online Order Status to view your order history and retrieve your web order number for your software purchase. You can also contact Apple Sales Support at 1-800-676-2775, Mon-Fri 5:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., or Sat-Sun 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Pacific time.

Did you purchase the software from an Apple Retail Store?

If you have either a printed or email version of your Apple Retail Store receipt, you can submit the receipt number for the purchase with an online form.

The receipt number is located below the barcode on the receipt.
The receipt number starts with an R and is between asterisks.

If you no longer have your receipt from an Apple Retail Store purchase, contact the Apple Retail Store you purchased the software from and request the retail receipt number for your software purchase. Once you have your receipt number you can submit your request.

Did you purchase the software from an Apple Reseller?

If you have your invoice available for your software purchased from an Apple Reseller, you can submit your request via fax. Download this fax cover sheet to submit your request to the number provided on the fax cover sheet.

If you do not have the invoice for your software purchase, contact the reseller you purchased the software from to request a duplicate invoice to submit via fax. Please note that this must be a valid proof-of purchase.
