Error when launching Pro Tools: Missing iLok license
Pro Tools (v9 and later), Pro Tools HD (v7 and later), and Pro Tools M-Powered (all versions) use iLok copy protection.
If you get this error:
- Verify that your iLok is connected and recognized.
- Verify that you have a valid license for the installed version of Pro Tools (Pro Tools HD software needs both Pro Tools and Pro Tools HD licenses installed). Check your iLok at ilok.com.
- Users with Pro Tools 10 on Windows 7 click here
- One user with Pro Tools 9.0.5 on Windows reported they needed to update their motherboard firmware (Intel dx58s02 with a 990X Processor) to get Pro Tools to recognize the license.
- Mac users can resolve this error by disconnecting the iLok from the computer and reconnecting it.
