In once case this was solved by uninstalling the Nvidia GeForce FX5200 driver from add/remove programs.

It appears as the entry: "NVIDIA Windows 2000/XP Display Drivers"

This occurred on a Windows computer after updating to Pro Tools 7.0. It was accompanied by random screen redraw problems, like MIDI notes that don't have the proper border so they blend into the track when highlighted.
