iTunes Store: Complete My Album Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Posted in Apple iTunes

What is Complete My Album?

If you have purchased one or more songs from an eligible album, you can now complete the album without having to pay the full album price, and instead of receiving the album in its entirety, you will receive only the songs you had not previously purchased. For example, if you purchased one song from an eligible album priced at $9.99 USD, you can get the remaining songs for $9.00 USD—instead of paying $9.99 USD for the album and buying the single again. You can complete albums this way even if you were given the initial song as a gift.

If you purchase a song from an eligible album on the iTunes Store, when you view the album again, the pricing will show Complete My Album and the adjusted price for the remaining songs. You can also view your eligible albums by accessing the Complete My Album page under Quick Links from the iTunes Store Music page, or from the iTunes Store homepage.

iPod, iPod (scroll wheel), iPod (touch wheel), and iPod (dock connector)

  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Play/Pause and Menu buttons simultaneously until the Apple/iPod logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You might need to repeat this step.

If the above steps didn't work, try connecting your iPod to a power adapter. Then, plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure that the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.

If you still can't reset your iPod, use only one finger from one hand to press the Center (Select) button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Menu button.

When your iPod resets, all of your music and files will be saved. Most settings will be saved as well, including the date and time (unless your iPod lost power and reset when reconnected to power), and customized settings such as your Bookmarks, On-The-Go Playlists, Shuffle, and Backlight timer. Some customized settings might be lost.
