Cannot mount filesystem error when booting clustered servers

Posted in Pro Tools

The suggestion solution is to have two fstab files

/etc/fstab_nogluster
/etc/fstab_gluster

then copy the /etc/fstab_nogluster file to the /etc/fstab directory.

Additionally, you must edit the /etc/rc.local file and add three lines, as demonstrated below.

Original rc.local text content:

#!/bin/sh
# This script will be executed *after* all the other init scripts.
# You can put your own initialization stuff in here if you don't
# want to do the full Sys V style init stuff.

touch /var/lock/subsys/local

Edited rc.local text content (added lines in bold):

#!/bin/sh
#
# This script will be executed *after* all the other init scripts.
# You can put your own initialization stuff in here if you don't
# want to do the full Sys V style init stuff.

touch /var/lock/subsys/local
cp –f /etc/fstab_gluster /etc/fstab
mount –a
cp –f /etc/fstab_nogluster /etc/fstab

Then you are ready for the next server reboot or failover.
