Media Composer 7.0 Licensing Matrix
Your Media Composer 7 license will allow you to run previous versions of Media Composer, and if you have the Symphony option, you can run previous versions of Symphony as well.
In order to use a Media Composer 7.0 software license with Media Composer 6.5.3, Media Composer 6.0.4, Symphony 6.5.3 or Symphony 6.0.4 you must use the full installer to install. The patch versions of these installers do not contain the updated Avid License Control utility which recognizes the Media Composer 7 Activation IDs as valid.
Versions previous to Media Composer 6.5.3, Media Composer 6.0.4, Symphony 6.5.3 and Symphony 6.0.4 will not recognize a Media Composer 7.0 Activation ID. Dongles will work to run previous versions.
To run Symphony 6.5.3 or 6.0.4, use your Symphony Option Activation ID in Avid License Control
