How To Re-flash the firmware of the TT002

Posted in Pro Tools

The Transport, Time Code, and GPI/O of newer System 5 consoles is handled within the SC264 Studio Computer by a card called the TT002 / TT002B. It is possible under certain circumstances for the TT002 firmware to become corrupted causing the TT002 to no longer respond to transport commands or fail to read/generate Timecode.  It is relatively quick and easy to re-flash the TT002 to recover the functionality of the card.

This article also covers the Max Air console with the exception of references to Transport control.

See the attached document 'How To Re-flash TT002 firmware.pdf' for complete instructions.

Note: It is advisable to check that all ancilliary equipment connected to the TT002 (RS422 machines and /or synchronisers, MTC and LTC generators) are correctly configured and prove not to be the source of the issue before re-programming the TT002 unnecessarily.
