[Validated] After installing Pro Tools LE 7.x on any Windows XP SP2 machine, an Administrator password is required to mount a USB flash drive if logged in under a Standard/Restricted user account. Uninstalling Pro Tools does not solve this.

After installing Pro Tools LE 7.x on any Windows XP SP2 machine, an Administrator password is required to mount a USB flash drive if logged in under a Standard/Restricted user account. Uninstalling Pro Tools does not solve this.

This is a known issue in Pro Tools LE v7.0-7.4 on Windows XP. The utility provided with this article fixes this problem.

To use it:

  1. Click the Download link below
  2. Click Open in the resulting dialog
  3. Double click Flash Drive Fix Utility and follow the built-in instructions
