Pro Tools 9.0.3 Read Me

These document important compatibility information, issues resolved in Pro Tools 9.0.3 (including issues resolved in 9.0.2 and 9.0.1), known issues, error codes, and corrections to the guides for Pro Tools 9.0.3 and Pro Tools HD 9.0.3 software:

Installation Instructions

Please Note: Pro Tools 9.0 and higher uses a single installer for both Pro Tools 9 and Pro Tools HD 9. The installation is the same for both; only the authorization is different.

DO NOT install any version of Pro Tools 9 if you do not have an iLok with the Pro Tools 9, Pro Tools HD 9, or Pro Tools HD 8.5 (HD Native) license. The Pro Tools 9.0.3 updater will remove any version of Pro Tools 8 or earlier, and Pro Tools 9 will not run without an authorized iLok.

To update using the Pro Tools 9.0.3 Updater:

  1. Verify that Pro Tools is installed on your system.
  2. Quit the Pro Tools application if it is open.
  3. Locate the Pro Tools 9.0.3 update installer and launch it.
  4. Follow the on screen instructions.
  5. When installation is complete, restart your computer.

To do a "clean install" of Pro Tools 9.0.3:
  • If you purchased the Download version of Pro Tools 9, the Pro Tools 9.0.2 Full Installers are available in your Avid Account, replacing the original Pro Tools 9.0 Full Installers.
  • The full installers do not require any previous installation of Pro Tools. Download the Pro Tools 9.0.2 Full Installer and run the installer application, then download and run the Pro Tools 9.0.3 Updater.
  • Owners of the boxed version of Pro Tools 9 that do not have access to downloadable full installers can install Pro Tools 9.0 from their DVD, then download and run the Pro Tools 9.0.3 Updater.

Driver Updates Required for Pro Tools 9
If you are upgrading to Pro Tools 9, it is important that you install the latest drivers for your device for Mac OS X 10.6 or Windows 7:

Downloads

If you purchased the Download Only version of Pro Tools 9.0 or Pro Tools HD 9.0, the following are available by logging into your Avid Account:
  • Pro Tools 9.0.2 Full Installer (Mac OS 10.6)
  • Pro Tools 9.0.2 Full Installer (Windows 7)
  • Pro Tools 9.0.3 Updater (Mac OS 10.6) Previous Installation of Pro Tools Required
  • Pro Tools 9.0.3 Updater (Windows 7) Previous Installation of Pro Tools Required

If you have already installed Pro Tools 9.0 on your system from the Pro Tools 9.0 installation DVD, or previously installed 9.0 or 9.0.1 from your Avid Account, you can download the Pro Tools 9.0.3 Updater for Mac or Windows:

Authorization

Pro Tools 9 requires your Pro Tools 9, Pro Tools HD 9, or Pro Tools HD 8.5 (HD Native) iLok authorization to launch.
