Moving a Virtual Instrument or moving/removing an Effect following the Virtual Instrument resets the MIDI routing of an Instrument Track to "none"

This is a known issue in Pro Tools 12 and can occur when...

Moving a Virtual Instrument:

  1. Create an Instrument Track
  2. Enable "Instrument" so you can see the MIDI routing
  3. Insert Xpand (or other VI) on the Instrument Track
  4. Move the VI to another Insert
Moving/removing an Effect following a Virtual Instrument:
  1. Create an Instrument Track
  2. Enable "Instrument" so you can see the MIDI routing
  3. Insert Xpand (or other VI) on the Instrument Track
  4. Insert an Effect (e.g. EQ3) following the VI
  5. Move EQ3 to another Insert or remove it
