Sibelius 7.5 ReWire functionality is broken after Sibelius (8.0) install
Instructions for restoring Sibelius 7.5 ReWire functionality if it is broken by a subsequent Sibelius v8.0.0 installation.

Last Updated : July 28, 2015
Products Affected : Sibelius

After installing Sibelius on a machine that already had Sibelius 7.5 in place, the ReWire connection to Pro-Tools or another Digital Audio Workstation Application (DAW) can only be used with Sibelius.
Sibelius 7.5 and Sibelius share a common file denoting the ReWire Pathway, and this file is always written at install-time for either Application.

This means that if you install Sibelius after you install Sibelius 7.5, the ReWire pathway will be rewritten to reference Sibelius.

If for some reason you want to persist with using Sibelius 7.5 in ReWire mode rather than Sibelius, you can restore this functionality by simply reinstalling the older version from the download available at the link below:

*If you have further difficulty with Sibelius being recognised as ReWire Slave in your Digital Audio Workstation software, please see this article for details on how to manually remove and restore ReWire from scratch:
