Singe Card Configuration for HDX and HD Native When Used Without Expansion Chassis:

Slot orders in the chassis run from left (closest to the power supply) to right.

Slot orders in the chassis run from left (closest to the power supply) to right. After the HD Core card which is always first, all Accel cards should go before any Process cards.


Additional Requirements


1394 Mojo and Mojo-SDI Configuration Requirements (slot #1 requirement)
Avid Mojo and Mojo-SDI  must connect via specific add-in 1394b PCI-Express Firewire cards (with 8K buffers) which must be installed in Slot #1. The Z800 embedded 1394 port cannot be used for connectivity to Mojo or Mojo-SDI.

Please Note: The following are required for StarTech PEX1394B3 compatibility with Windows XP:
  • Windows XP Service Pack 3 required
  • Microsoft hotfix KB955408 (StarTech PEX1394B3 must be installed in machine prior to running hotfix)

AVOption|V10 Configuration Requirements
AVoption|V10 must be connected directly to the Z800 embedded 1394 port. It will not be recognized if connected to the StarTech PEX1394B3 card.

Utilization of embedded (on-board) Ethernet ports:
The HP Z800 Workstation has an Embedded Broadcom BCM5764 GbE NIC with two on-board Ethernet ports which can be used individually or simultaneously for the following:

  • Video Satellite and/or Ethernet control surface: ICON System (D-Control, D-Control ES, D-Command, D-Command ES), C|24, ProControl, Control|24.
  • Note: Not qualified for Avid ISIS connectivity.

HP Performance Advisor


Using HP Performance Advisor
HP Performance Advisor is a utility created by HP which provides detailed system information and access to the computer’s BIOS settings.  Download and install HP Performance advisor here:
  1. Launch HP Performance Advisor and click on Your Computer
  2. On the Block Diagram page, click on BIOS
  3. Scroll down to the BIOS settings section
  4. Under Power > OS Power Management
    • Change Runtime Power Management from Enable to Disable
    • Change MWAIT-Aware OS from Enable to Disable
    • Change Idle Power Savings from Enhanced to Normal
  5. Under Power > Hardware Power Management
    • Change Intel Turbo Boost Technology from Enable to Disable
    • Change Enhanced Intel Turbo Boost Technology from Enable to Disable
  6. Under Advanced > Processors
    • Change Hyper-Threading from Enable to Disable
  7. Close HP Performance Advisor
  8. Restart the computer
