Resolution

To resolve this issue:

  1. Quit the application.
  2. From the Finder, choose Home from the Go menu.
  3. Double-click the Library folder.
  4. Double-click the Preferences folder.
  5. Find the file "com.apple.helpviewer.plist" and delete it.
  6. Open the application and the then open the Help Viewer.

Additional Information

JavaScript and AppleScript may have been disabled in Help Viewer. JavaScript is required for some help content to be displayed correctly; AppleScript is required to keep Help Viewer content up-to-date. Removing the plist file re-enables JavaScript and AppleScript.
